Landing on the frozen grounds of Icecrown I could not have imagined such a scene. In the hills behind liberated Northrend lay several pavilions and tents. Their order was arranged in such a way to provide a circle around a large building being constructed. In the harshest cold of the north I found a little warmth here. The snow had been plowed away to the permafrost. Spells must have been cast to warm travelers coming and going. Merchants shouted not in alarm at the Lich King but to sell their wares. Over priced shirts to represent Stormwind or Darnassus or Orgrimmar. Food imported from Stranglethorn Vale. A new engineering schematic, I had to pick up. Some sort of tube that emitted a powerful beam of light. Chances are I'll never build one nor need one but for forty silver who could pass that up?
The best warriors from around Azeroth and Outland were here. The King's champion, Marshal Jacob Alerius, greeted me. Being one of the few blessed with the Hand of A'dal he was aware of my victories. While Marshal Alerius didn't immediately come to my mind as someone familiar all around him spoke of how he bested some better known heroes. Bolvar himself is said to have lost in a jousting match to Alerius.
Other nations of the alliance had brought their own delegations. High Elves apparently reported to Stormwind as did other human nations. But I think I saw someone I recognized from Theramore with the Darnassian delegation. All of them carried great heroes of reknown. If ever there was a group that stood a chance of defeating the Lich King it was here.
Now, after three days of tournament I have to say that the road of a Knight is something I should have taken. Rumbling across the battle field I trampled to death scourge minions in my path. It was exhilarating like nothing else. But I do wonder how all the mages, priests, bards, and merchants who wear cloth survive? I've taken several lances to my head that would have knocked me off my horse. In battle against the scourge one of my horses were slewed by a group of Scourge Knights. How the lightly armored among our number survive is beyond me.
