Simple Enough (Part 12)

“Oh, hell,” Min said, raising his shield.

The gnome and Roderick Castille had rounded a turn…straight into the crossbow sights of Kothrin and another mercenary. Twin bolts splintered against Min’s shield, his other hand at the pouch on his hip. An orb shimmered into existence, summoned from the space within the enchanted bag.

Kothrin dove, crossbow discarded, as the gnome’s orb flew. Caught reloading, the other mercenary saw the glass sphere too late to move. Dirt crumbled… Continue

The peace.

Some of the kind folk in Thunder Bluff asked me if I would accompany them on a supply run to Camp Mojache, Feralas. I tried to find an excuse not to go, but the tauren have a way about them that makes them seem needy. Not in a weak way, but in a way that makes you just want to hug them and tell them that it will all be okay. But it never really is, is it?

The centaur haven’t been bothering the transport caravans from Thunder Bluff lately, but you never can tell when one of those… Continue

Strengthening

Today I took on a horde of trolls. Tough buggers.

Anyway I got some gash's guy's head with the help of a fellow blood elf.

I got a nice sword now, a beauty. And a Farstrider's shield too!

Helping people has brought me farther and farther south into the ghostlands..

I don't like it down there, too dark and.. eerie. It's like the color was sucked from the world...

Right now I'm in Silvermoon City, taking a break, and I just bought a stack of copper ore, so I'll

be… Continue

Helping People

I have helped many people out in my days, I like helping people, the feeling I get inside.

Sure it takes time helping the folks of Eversong Forest out, but I enjoy the work.

I have strengthened since the last time I wrote in you, and I have even switched my entire style.

Selling my old armor, buying a whole new suit of armor, and even a sword and shield, instead of the

2-Hander I was using for so long. Sure it looked nice, sure it was powerful, but it was heavy and… Continue

Kindness Part 2

Why? The little thief sat up in the saddle as Auris dismounted Kanar to examine a limp mass of feathers in the road. She lifted the creature, avoiding the swipe of its talons by the use of her voice. The gnome watched this strange elf sing a vulture into calm. “I will only be a moment,” Auris called and closed her eyes.

A moment? That was all a gnome needed to disappear into the smoky pass. “Blackrock Pass” Auris had said. She had also said the word “dangerous,” but what did a rogue… Continue

Kindness

The tiny figure sat on a crate in the Trade District, discreetly watching the crowd. Many were possible targets, but none seemed so easy at the Night Elf woman absorbed in examining her map. Never did the little Gnome see the glowing eyes flicker in her direction. Her decision made, the tiny thief stood and moved silently towards the Elf. She was certain no one noticed her as she crept up behind the Elf, slipping her tiny hand into the visible gold pouch and extracting a few coins. For once,… Continue

Just The Beginning...

Dear Journal,

Today I completed many tasks for the local-folk, and I think I'm getting better at fighting.
I can take down Tenders and Feral Tenders with ease!
Mother and Father are long dead now, the dead scar plagued their minds...
I won't end up like them, I promise. Anyway, I just delivered a pack to Elrona I think her name was...
I should get back to helping out around the place, bettering my skills as I go along..

Officer's Journal Entry #114

Hope. It's the one thing that the Lich King, or any entity the Alliance has faced, or will face, cannot destroy. The belief that as bad as the situation may be, it will always improve. Hope is what kept the incredibly brave soldiers and folk alive at Valgarde, for they had little else left to look forward to.

When I stepped off the icebreaker Valorous Intent, I saw a struggling outpost constantly in danger of being overrun. The only structures that were still standing were a partial… Continue

Officer's Journal Entry #112

Clang, tap. Clang, tap. Clang, tap. Clang, tap.

The sound of a blacksmith's hammer on hot iron, the rhythm regular as clockwork. When I was in training to be an officer, I often took refuge in the smithy at the dwarven district. The sound and activity helped organize my thoughts and see things clearly, not to mention earning a grudging bit of respect from the dwarven smiths, who made blacksmithing an art form. I still visit there every so often, helping out a new recruit with a donated set… Continue

Update

Tuesday, 16 June 620, 10:00 am

Dear Self and Reader(s),

I have become a lord. Lord Areo sent a letter to me, requesting my audience. I took to horse and attended him immediately. He was ill, and he retired to his chambers for the whole of the two coming seasons. He required me to act in his stead, and did I accept. It was my duty, and who would be I to reject such an honor?

With Arugal's departure, the few remaining minions of the Scourge were simple enough for… Continue
