March 2011 Journal Entries (104)

Mothers' day

While it was pleasant enough seeing Byron and Bonny June last night – for the first time in a long while, I might add – I have to cast some doubts on the couple’s sanity.

They both still claimed to be “retired”, though June looks as though she still has quite a few good years left on her. But they were both completely obsessed with their daughter – who just seems like trouble with a capital T. Langley had even forgone a suitcase, just so he’d have room to carry the baby… Continue

Victory Rush: Entry #5

When I find him I will kill him.

He has some nerve just going off on his own without so much as a word to anyone!  Not even a note.  Mother forbid he have any pets that need feeding!  Or a house that need watching over.

Or people that worry about him.  Not that I'm worried.  At all.  But many of these runt-mates of his could be.  The littlest one, Jenafeine, seemed particularly distraught.  I had to console her.

"If something happened to… Continue

Congregation of Records: Paths of Choice and the Bossy Lady of the Morning

Choices are exactly what they are meant to be: Choices. When you make a choice you are gaining something and giving something up in return. I choose as a boy to become a ranger and in return I gave up a life of peace with Ranala. I choose to speak with Laethe and I give up ever getting those damn sparkles out of my house when I return. Everything in this world is choice, sometimes that is in our control and sometimes it isn't.

So when a man is stuck at the crossroads of life and two… Continue

1. The Will for Infamy

1. The Will

I imagine only one in one thousand men have the will for the path I have chosen.  Indeed, the most important question a rogue can reflect upon for his or her self is the question, "Do I have the will to succeed?"  Those who do may live a life of adventure, intrigue, and infamy.  Those who fall short, finding that they lack the…

A Traveler's Guide to the Shadows

A crackling fire burns in a small ring lined with stones.  The fire casts flickering, orange shadows across the nearby area, a small clearing within the tangles of thick jungle.  One stump on the edge of the clearing has become the resting spot of a tall and rather lanky figure.  The second stump is much closer to the fire.  A leather bound journal with a crimson hue rests upon this stump. Inscribed on the surface of the journal are the words "A Traveler's Guide to the Shadows:…

March 31

((Written on the back of a paper bearing the logo of the inn in Goldshire))

I have to get all the names down before they become hazy - although who am I kidding? There's no way I'll forget what happened today. This is one of those days that will be remembered with such detail that I'll be able to recount it in full in fifty years, should I happen to make it that long.

Suddenly, that part is more of a question than it was before.

My supposed…

March 26, 625

I hid away much of the day, conjuring an appropriate response. The few times I stepped out on the street to talk to any necessary parties, I enjoyed a certain anonymity. But then, I knew the back roads well enough by now - even the new ones made by busy hands in the course of rebuilding the city. When required, I can keep my head down.

While the "Hanged Man" proves useful in procuring supplies, she's abysmal at anything involving pleasanties, or the exchange of coin for service. And I… Continue

The Tears of The Innocent.

The sun had not yet risen and the whole of Silvermoon seemed to be sleeping. I had cast my glance upward catching sight of lit window in a tower just above me. The window was cracked upon and the soft sound of slumber drifted downward towards my ears. I was delivering a message to one of the Blood Knight Generals, a message of grave importance. It had seemed that more and more lately..bad news came…

Musings (Jenafeine) - Promises Sought

A small room, though larger than the old one in Dalaran. Barren without the shelves of books to line the walls, without the large writing desk with its sticky drawer. Barely anything to fill it, just a Tauren-sized bed and an Elf-sized table with two chairs. Two chests rest beside the bed near the foot and head, serving both as storage and as stepping stools, if large for the latter purpose. The painting of two women smiling together hangs on the wall over the bed, easily visible to an… Continue

March 25, 625

These libelous posters around the city are an abomination. Either they are coming down, or I am getting out.

And while I know and care little about these other fools being primed for the noose, I am particularly concerned about my employer’s name being listed among them. I know him well enough to know that he does not play games when it comes to weaving his webs. Everyone in the city is a potential tool toward his own ends – though very few share or know of them directly.… Continue

Congregation of Records: Reach and Flexibility

A question I will have for a long time: How is Alekstraya is so flexible.

Two days into our honeymoon and we are enjoying ourselves throughly. Weeks of looking after the clan and fighting the twilight had put our marriage on the backburner and I'm enjoying the time we are spending changing that. We've gone sledding on the hills, long walks through the forest and simply talking to each other. She tells me of her magic and studies and how eager she is to began work on her new fabrics. I… Continue

54: Decoy

Once more in Shattrath, this time on orders from Jenafeine, Sin'Solaria basked in the light and song of A'dal.  The Light-born essence that the Naaru exuded fell over the paladin, reinvigorating her.  The innate ability of all Blood Elves to leech magic from their environment drew the Light energy to her,…

Infancy and Illness (Dhel Journal)

This child is as light as a basket full of flowers but has the lung strength of a harpy.  It’s rather funny.  He’s sleeping now in his basinet so peacefully.  It’s almost amazing to believe that here sleeps the future hero of the next generation.  Even though his body seems weak, his strength grows day by day.  He squeezes his finger tighter day by day.

I wish I could say the same of his mother.  Carmila’s state has me very concerned.  She seems to be getting weaker as time…

Congregation of Records: Empty House and Lonely House

I never thought seeing Tarkhan leave would be so, strange.

True he belongs with his mother and seeing Thalleia's face light up when she saw him was heartwarming, but things feel so..different now. No more waking up at the night to calm him, no chances of me turning around and finding him playing with his toys, no more lecturing or telling him off. I suppose this is good and that the house will be quiet again, but i don't know. Everything just feels little more empty now.

I may… Continue

March 24, 625

((Written a day BEFORE the posters hit the street, obviously!))

What are these fools trying to prove?

Zaelah, of all people – ZAELAH – the woman who can’t make up her mind if she wants a husband or not - is the first one to warn me that I’m being “watched”. As if I didn’t know this. As if half the time, it wasn’t the Old Man himself hiring someone to keep an eye on me.

I don’t even bloody know what they’re expecting me to do. Murder a child in… Continue

March 27, the Lamb

((Jotted on the back of a napkin))

Far too many things I didn't understand or know the full story. Byron and June Langley - Shame works for them, but they've been gone for ages. Seemed harmless. Doubt they are.

What's Meris' game? She sold my secret out to a worgen hunter, sold Shame's tryst out to the same man. Too much trading in secrets.

Havyn, didn't catch her last name. She made Meris nervous, but not Asherrean. Ask?

Vigo…

Twilight's Hammer - Call to Arms!

(( Sent to several heroes of the Alliance from Azhandris Summerwind. I hope you like text... *))

Heroes of the Coalition,

I humbly seek your reconsideration concerning the plan to move against the Twilight's Hammer of Stormwind City. I fear that with the current proposal that the situation in Stormwind will not be resolved and we will find ourselves back at the beginning of this…

March 23, 625

I assumed Asherrean must have been hiding something from me, if only for his overly compensatory behavior of late. But my careful search of the unoccupied rooms – late at night, when I’d assured myself everyone was asleep – turned up nothing unusual. Well, nothing unusual for a couple that keeps a houseful of alchemical recipes, herbal roots and the occasional menacing contraption cluttering its many tables and shelves.

I did happen upon an unanswered (and wholly disconnected,… Continue

Journal: An Evening Out

My life seems to be running in circular paths as of late, oft bringing me to places I have already visited or to circumstances on which I have dwelt upon before.

I happened up Miss Shame the other afternoon, in the company of Meris and some being referred to as the "Hanged Man."  They are were in a need of a porter to assist in them in a task for the Hanged Man.  Typically, I would reject such a mundane task, especially regarding my brief history with regards to Shame and her…

Theramore's Dirty Rat

They say, what is light without darkness. And though, this may be true... is it not our jobs to extinguish the shadows that we do find lingering about? Yet, I sense that many of us simply decide to ignore the darkness around us... more importantly the darkness that is found in us.
