Duskwood Dangers

My investigations have come across some oddities.

Went to the Stormwind Guard headquarters and asked a gentlemen by the name of Alex Balual about any possible Defias actions in Duskwood. He told me they've not had any reports. However, after a day of investigation and research, I've run across a pair of grave robbers near the Raven Hill Cemetery. Both had the Defias bandannas on them. Seems they were pillaging the coffins and graves for anything of value. They didn't want to come in… Continue

Meeting of the Dream Wardens I: "Hare"

Meeting of the Dream Wardens, Emerald Dream, three years after the rise of the Icetalon Moonkin, four months after their slaughter and near extinction. Father Icetalon, as most called him, sat in meditation with the other Wardens. One did not need to speak to communicate in the Dream, thought was more than enough to carry out a message.

“Warden Icetalon, we demand you explain your actions.” One of the wardens, a Night Elf, spoke up among the crowd.

“What have I done… Continue

Dear Self and Reader(s),

The weather outside is charming, and the week next seems magnificent. I could bask in it. The last week has been somewhat hectic. I have encountered a few odd things.

The first pertains to Master Harple Firehand, the mage and former Steward to the Lady Nightstone. He claimed that the King gave him permission to roam about; I only recall the Lady Arialynn Maewood, Lanria, and Master Thalynn having the King's… Continue

Transfer Complete

The last of my official paperwork and documents have been signed and stamped. I am officially no longer Deputy Marshal of the Arathi Highlands South Sector. I am now Marshal of Stormwind and Former Azeroth.

With my newly vested powers I plan on beginning a strong investigation on the dealings down south. The dark forests of Duskwood are plagued by more than just Defias, and with the nearby Horde and Goblin locations I wouldn't be surprised if there was illegal trafficking. A local… Continue

Huitzlpochti's Journal (My DK Alt)

Its warm here in Stormwind. Not the frozen tendrils of death that comforted and brought me solace in the great north. My master, the Master, had taken me from the great forest and pines of the Grizzly Hills when I was but a boy. Ner'zul was his name then. Arthas is his name now. But always he will be the Lich King.

Do I miss my previous occupation as a corrupter in the Master's services? Yes. The warmth of Stormwind's climate matches the guilded warmth of its people towards my… Continue

Cantique's Pen

Cantique places the coiled wick into a small hardened clay bowl which she then fills with oil. She pushes and twists the end of the oil-soaked wick through a hole in the center of a clay disk. After setting the slightly domed cover on the hand sized vessel, Cantique takes a supple, narrow scrap of leather and wraps it around the two pieces, criss-crossing once over itself and then knots it to hold the pieces of the lamp together.

After catching a bit of fire on the end of a twig,… Continue

The message

As I returned to my home.... "Home?", Cyny gives a sad sounding chuckly, "Can this hole in the side of a mountain be called home?" Cyny takes a long breath, "Well for me, I guess it is."

I approached, and became hesitant. It would seem I have had a visitor, for they have left me a note. With an understood cautiousness, Cyny reached for the note. This would not be the first time a trap was set for him. As he slowly pulls the note out of the crack in the door, he muttered, "I really… Continue

Duskwood Smugglers

Been getting word of mouth about smuggling happening in the forests of Duskwood. It came to my attention especially after reports of a fire, though who or what I don't know. I know there's the Horde and Goblin encampments in Stranglethorn. It's probably those sneaky Horde trying to smuggle weapons and equipment to their orc counterparts in Redridge. Heard there might be Horde still lingering in the Swamps too. I'll be investigating sometime next week, hopefully with Dahlton. He had a meeting of… Continue

Fear

Faiyt was tiding up around the orphanage one day when one of her friends came around. A half elf paladin that had once lived at the orphanage herself, Carmila was quote familiar with the workings of an orphanage. At times, she'd pop by to say hello and help out a bit. She wound keep the children enthralled with tales of battle and honor while Faiyt was able to work about the orphanage without worrying about random children suddenly jumping in her patch.

One of the children, Evelyn,… Continue

Simple Enough (Part 8)

Min sat at the table pretending to read the book propped up in front of him. He read the same sentence for what seemed the hundredth time. His thoughts wouldn’t settle. Twenty-four hours, plenty of time for whispers to hit all the right ears about a certain gnome looking for a kidnapped noble, and all he had was a Taurenesque ball of nothing. Another twelve and he’d start to take the lack of attention personally.

“More water, Mr. Sparkpistol?” the inn matron asked.

He set… Continue

A lost page...

-This page was found blowing about in the region of Icecrown. The writer is unknown, the faded and torn page tells that this was written sometime ago.-

I have felt it for some days now. They seem to be all around me and yet for some reason they do not advance an attack. These are unlike any scourge that I have seen before, they're tactics are a mystery as well. How odd, it is as if they are waiting for something, but I have no idea what. I have sent my dragon companion back to… Continue

Dear Digested Diary... Bear Diets Require Lots of Fiber.

New discovery!

One afternoon, I was scribbling away, then a bear rushed by and snapped you up in its jaws!

If I didn't know, better, I'd say that bear was getting its daily source of fiber.

Sincerely,
Toddles

P.S. - well, I had to wait until it digested you to get you back.

Cantique's Pen

Cantique sits, sewing the back edges of her journal pages together. She has already cut and tooled the leather pieces into which the bound pages will go and has ready on the hearth the small pot of glue that has to be re-melted for each use. Cantique is thankful she had enough coin to purchase the glue, as she knows the process of rendering it from bits of carcass is tedious and smelly.

Later she writes . . .

Marshal's Journal -- Recruit

Finally posted those fliers and spread out those documents. Since I'm not from around here and Dahlton, my good friend and comrade, has been absent of late I was very nervous about placing them. The last thing I want is some sort of problems arising, or a total and instant disregard for the Dragoons. I mean coming up with the name alone was a hassle.

I'm still saving up for the steed, however. The Stormwind nobles robbed me blind when I transferred down here. I just hope I didn't… Continue

Journal 4

*A drawing of a pointy eared stick girl seems to be serving over sized cups to what seems to be a small child stick girl by a fire with arrows pointing labeling the adult and child "s" and "c"*

Well, I moved myself out into a new area. Into the jungle of stranglethorn. It is nice here... no orphans, no matron, just the occasional cat or something rustling nearby. Sometimes I hear odd shouts. but I'm sure it's just some of the local trolls. They leave me be so I don't have any… Continue

Dreams

A private room on the upper level of Dalaran's best inns. A luxurious expense to be sure, but it wasn't for the luxury. Paying for a personal, private room in the Legerdemain Lounge ensured privacy, and that was what its occupant required. Surrounded by old tomes with worn, dog-eared pages, Ezrial found himself at a loss. Open in front of him was a small, leatherbound ledger that had clearly suffered long before finding its way to the Dalaran libraries. Its contents had perplexed and confused… Continue

Cantique's Pen

Pulling pungent dark green leaves off square stems, Cantique drops them into the simmering pot. The fragrance of the mynt rises with the steam which gathers under the low rafters and permeates her home. Cantique knows this will attract wild cats; however, she is sure they will find the dried bundles of last year's nippyplant she has put out in the clearing. Cantique knows they will be content to roll in it and twitch their whiskers in a feral grin, leaving her alone with her… Continue

Adventure Log (?)

What kind of name is “Adventure Log”? Why could I not think of something less…Less corny? Well, I will have to change it sometime soon. I do not think I’ll be able to continue writing in this thing—or even start, really—if I have to look at that every time.

My wife would probably tease me about this; she is merciless when it comes to an opportunity to poke fun at me; it is one of the reasons I love her so. After all, you need a good sense of humor to get through life intact! Moving… Continue

Finding Strength

I left the barren and desolate region of the Dark Portal as my initial resolve crumbled in my attempt to face what I feel is my future. Where to go to though to help find my resolve?

I went North, though not as far as many have gone to that frozen continent I have heard of while passing through the human and dwarven settlements. I sought out those lands claimed by plague and disease where I might bring my strength in Elune to bear some good. Perhaps I also came here to get as far… Continue

The Task

Another restless night!

No matter how hard I tried, I could not stop thinking about it. I lay in bed and forced my mind to travel elsewhere, but it always brought me back to it. I thought of home, my parents and the good times I had with them. Specifically, my thoughts wandered to the first time they took me to Stromwind to see that wonderous city. In my mind I was a boy again, holding my parents hands as we stood on the platform waiting for the tram to arrive. The hustle and bustle… Continue
