Born from Scourge magic for the sole purpose of murdering his son and scattering the boy's clan, the orc death knight known as Wargaunt broke free from the Lich King's control with so many others during the Battle for Light's Hope Chapel. Though he has taken his living name back after this freedom, he still feels most comfortable responding to the Scourge moniker he was given. Sewn back together from remains not wholly his own, the knight stands well over six feet in height and weighs in at about eighteen stone. His flesh has taken on a stony, deathly gray pallor and his eyes burn with the power of the sorcery that animates him.

Clad in burnished steel armor, enameled with a dark red to denote his status as a disciple of Blood, the knight's sole purpose is to seek and safeguard a ward of his choosing. Though he is a death knight like any other, he has a tendency to radiate heat when roused to anger rather than biting cold; his particular specialty is boiling the blood of his enemies and stealing their life force to sustain himself and his allies through the application of rune magic.

He is frequently found in the company of a traveling necromancer, and though his loyalties lie firmly with the Horde, his time in Acherus amongst death knights of all races cause him to take a more relaxed view in his associations.
