Shamanism: How to make friends and influence spirits

  •  With the fall of the Deathbringer, my brothers and sisters seem to be seeking more peaceful activities; trying to enjoy a brief respite before the next threat to the Horde reveals itself. Perhaps it is time I pursued what began at Hellscream’s monument.

The longest journey begins with a single step. It is time to walk this new path and see where it leads me. Following Gorezug’s advice, I flew out to Throne of Elements tonight and spoke with Elementalist Sharvak about obtaining a good sample of sapta. She told me it would take a day or so for her to prepare properly. After thanking the elder shaman, I made my way back to Garadar proper. Mayune had offered me the use of the house used by Golth in his time, as a place of peace, meditation or even just storage. Landing outside the door, I dismounted my drake and made my way in to look around. Such a generous offer! The house had two rooms and a loft, and she had recently been by to clean it up and prepare it for use as well!

I set a fire going under the cook pot to make a small meal before retiring for the night. Despite having the loft, I found a simple woven mat in the main living area and I laid down upon it. From my spot on the floor, I could look up through the roof and see the stars. Beneath me the solidity of earth pressed up against my back. Beside me the warm crackling fire. Blowing through the doorways, the breeze cooled my skin while the waterfall outside whispered.

I tried to focus on all of it, to hold everything in my hands and my mind. I failed. The day had been too long, I succumbed to sleep, none the wiser in what the elements wanted of me. When I woke, the fire was cold ashes, the stars fading with the rising sun. I got myself up, stretching and cracking; stiff from sleeping on the ground without even a blanket. I made my way out the back doorway and found why Golth had chosen this place. Stepping outside, I was greeted by the sun. The door faced south and east across the waterfall. This will be a good place to begin my journey in just another day or two.

I am honored by my clan mates’ concern for me, making sure that I have someone to watch over my body. For so many months now they have all trusted me to watch over them. Had faith that I was there even while unseen. Such a strange and unexpected thing to now turn around and have to place my trust in them. I could ask for no better protectors than Mayune and Gorezug.

Binding up her journal with a leather thong, Shupa turns to face the sun, beginning a meditation on stillness from her assassin's training. Seeking calm, listening to the waterfall beside her and allowing her concerns to flow away from her with the water.

Mayune Warsinger I can foresee Gorezug watching Shupas back, and Mayune making sure he doesn't get distracted by a passing alliance. /cackle
