Investigations

  • We were thorough, we covered every inch of the body, the various organs, their functions, and each bone has a name. Each one does something different and amazing to sustain life. Shutting one tiny portion down causes a myriad of effects leading to total, eventual cessation of life. That is, unless one intervenes. I can see the diseases as they crop up and take each system, how they affect the humans’ life force. I can see also how these can all be reversed or slowed. There is so much to it. I do not have time to learn it all now, but the broad overview I have absorbed from the Lich has been enlightening.

This toolset is good, it will be invaluable to aid us, and I am thankful the Lich is willing to pass on his knowledge to this eager student. Our subject will not be with us much longer, and it is a shame. I was beginning to enjoy his screams for mercy. It is no small thing to cause such harm to the living, but this weak and frail creature held out with a tenacity of one much more powerful than he should have ever been. It would be so simple to simply snuff the life force of Azhandris’ minion, but the Master said no. We used him as a tool for my education, and he will now go to another for a true breaking of his mind, since the pain we have inflicted upon him has made him insensate.

I want another. I crave to learn more about the inner workings of life and all of its tiny pieces. Not only does each of the body parts have names, but every disease state, every malady and poison of the body does as well. I want to know them all, to watch the body crumble in every way possible. Every tiny speck should be observed and mastered.

Which enemy of the Tears will provide me with my next lesson?
