We Are the Destroyer's End

  • It's over. The beast that had plagued mankind and Azeroth for thousands of years is now, definitely, dead. Great tales speak of the times in the past that races and dragons have fought him back together, but each time he'd narrowly escape with what was left of his "life."

Now we can say, with absolute certainty, that he has been destroyed. Dead. Kaput. No more.

We are the Destroyer's End. The Horde served their purpose as cannon fodder and diversions to let the allied forces of the Alliance really save the day. If not for the Skyfire, the Destroyer would have been able to escape and create a greater cataclysm than ever before. I'll admit that I was pretty happy to see him tear apart the Horde gunship.

There are so many things to be said about the unbelievable set of events that took place on the day of the Dragon Soul. I was there, I saw it with my own eyes. Neltharion and his lieutenants felt the pain inflicted by -my- spells.

I was able to meet and speak with the Aspects after the day was done, I feel so fortunate for that, even if their strength is no more. I still felt absolutely humbled, and so happy that I was able to help them in the final fight. Brief introductions and enthusiastic handshakes were all I could offer, but they were all so nice! Well, Nozdormu only said, "Not entirely unexpected." I bet he's kind of a buzzkill, and a know it all. I imagine the other dragons don't think he's fun to be around.

Thrall was the lucky wielder of the Dragon Soul, and he managed to deal the finishing blow. I ought to wring his green neck for giving us such a narrow window to escape from Deathwing's Spine. He almost obliterated us all with that ego blast!

The Siege on the Temple itself...

I've never felt so on top of my game. Everyone there was tested immensely, but I belief that I rose above and beyond expectations. The spells flowed so freely from my hands, my speed and arcane assisted agility helped me avoid the attacks of the great foes we faced. I know that the damage I dealt was easily as devastating as any other fighter there, if not moreso.

Seeing so many of my friends fighting so closely by my side was a significant confidence booster. I don't think I ever expected to be sharing a platoon with both Ben Monroe and Arialynn fighting a common enemy. Not to mention that we were all clearly the finest heroes of our time.

I will say that there were many unpleasant experiences associated with my spellcasting last night. I heard just before the fight started that the Conjuror's had re-activated the artificial Ley Line beneath the temple, the one that the blue Dragons had once tried to create. To tell the truth, over the course of the night, my connection with the Ley was absolutely all over the place. It was exhausting, and a very strange experience.

First, outside the temple my spells flowed very very freely. I was on top of the world and naturally felt quite attuned to the line, just from the repeated spellcasting in its proximity. It was not like the focussed Ley drinking that Velhari had once showed me, but I definitely harnessed some of its power, making it my own.

Then, when we had to deal with the dreaded, disgusting maws of the Forgotten ones, one of the beasts within used spells that really jerked around my mana. He'd create this blue orb that would make me feel sick and exhausted, unable to cast. As soon as the blue orb was destroyed, I was instantly invigorated, and back to normal again. It was quite disorienting and didn't exactly feel good.

We had to enter the Eye of Eternity. Shit Fire. It was so beautiful! And the magic! Holy crap it was so intense! I felt like a god in there, the orc we faced stood no chance!

The Dragon's spells were very powerful and difficult to ignore when we faced Ultraxion and Deathwing, it was quite distracting, and frankly, all the magic disturbances around me started to take their toll. Not to mention the corrupting shadow magic from the cultist started to wear on me as well. By the end of the night, I felt sick. Not injured, but very sick, its not the kind of experience a mage should go through regularly, I don't think my body was ready for that kind of extended magical chaos.

I will need a lot of rest, and perhaps I should get a trusted healer to check me for any lingering curses or corruption. I feel like I was quite vulnerable to that kind of thing last night, especially after dealing with Deathwing's blood itself!

Afterwards, there was much rejoicing. Arialynn recieved a proposal, I drank some tea, and there was merriment up the wazoo. I'm very glad that my new friend was alright too, she is resting now.  I think a well deserved break is in order, I still haven't had a proper one since entering the Firelands.

Still. We are heroes! I am a hero! I still performed amazingly, and the Kingdom of Stormwind will not be harmed by those monsters any longer!

    New adventures await.

    For Stormwind!

    For the Alliance!
