Ling let out an impish snicker at Ambrosine's statement, and after a courteous bow he strolled off a few steps towards his friend and commander. The Captain swiftly turned blue feral eyes to Jaffar as he was addressed, flashed a wolven smile and nodded acknowledging the Templar's thanks.

"No more dragons, I'd hope", he replied to Jaffar's question as he rose to his full stature. "Not ones so stealthy, at least. That one must 'ave been a scout". He turned around to the Monk. "Ling, th' lamp", to which the small Pandaren bounded over to the magical lamp to douse the light. The Captain then turned to address both Templars, ears flickering, his blue eyes glowing in the dark.

"If they 'ave become aware of our presence, we'll see their forces coming from starboard", he reached out a clawed index in the mentioned direction. "An' we'll see 'em well in advance to blast 'em 'fore they come too close. Fer now we sail south full speed, may the winds favor us... mayhap we'll get close enough to port to receive aid if the greenskins come after us".

And muttering something about turning the ship into a steamer he gave some crewmen orders to tend to the sails, leaping off to help in the task, while others kept watch for incoming foes. Soon the sails swelled up and the ship gained more momentum. His task completed, the Captain leaped over to regain his post at the helm, as Highbank grew closer in the dark preceding daybreak.

Ambrosine resisted the urge to pace restlessly. The excitement had gotten her blood up, but aside from condemning the dragon's rider to a watery grave she hadn't really gotten to bloody her swords, so to speak. This was a rather unfortunate state of mind for the death knight to be in, especially considering how upset she got at herself for wanting to kill anything to begin with.

With a deep sigh she pulled a flask of her belt and downed the entire thing in one go, slumping against the wall afterward to brood. Well, everyone was alright--that had been the point. She distracted herself by eating the nearly-forgotten stew.

Jaffar had begun to settle down just a little bit as they sailed along. The ship was making good speed as they'd all hoped, but he wasn't particularly fond of surprises. In only a few moments they had cleared the metal fortress and he could now spot the large delta that flowed inland before branching off into the main river. He kept his eyes fixed on the spot for any sign of a Horde vessel, but they were far enough away that it was just as dark and calm as the rest of the water around him.

Giving a defeated sigh, he turned and went to settle down next to Ambrosine, a sweet drink might actually help him stay awake, as sleep was catching up to him. Wrapping an arm around her, he pulled out his flask and tapped it against hers before taking a long swig. "Suppose we should be grateful that the two ports are stting so close to each other. If an attack comes to any ship passing through, they'll have a chance to get some aid."

Ambrosine wordlessly handed him a flask, then let her feet slide out from under her until she was sitting on the deck. "First thing we're doing when we have a moment free? Napping."

The Captain kept his eyes trained on the horizon, and for a while said nothing. The sun was peeking out from the horizon when he finally grinned and pointed forth. The sailor that had been sent to the crow's nest let out the familiar "land ho!"

"Prepare to dock!", the Captain bellowed, for Highbank was now in sight. The Alliance flag that the Tempest bore saluted the port, and the Captain, now having regained his human form, strode over to the deck to issue the proper orders for the final approach to port. While he stood there, Ling approached him holding his red hat. The Captain took the hat from him, put it on and continued coordinating the docking maneuvers. As he did so, he looked around towards the two Templars.

"I would 'ope ye enjoyed yer stay at the Tempest", he said to them grinning. The plank to the pier was almost in place. "Do let me know if you'll be returnin' wit me or if I should set sail without ya. Which would be regrettable, but I wouldn't blame ya".

Jaffar stepped forward to shake the Captain's hand and clapped him on the shoulder, a wide smile on his face. "Are you kidding? If I had my way you'd have to throw me overboard to get me to leave."

Once they had docked, he began to help divide up and unload half of the cargo, the rest of which would be taken to Stormwind. "We'll be travelling to Kirthaven, the Wildhammer village to the North. It's easier to keep the supplies stored there rather than at Highbank, and it's the perfect place to rest after storming an enemies stronghold." He grinned and tapped a keg of Ambrosine's famous moonshine for the crew, and they drank merrily to celebrate their arrival.

"If you can wait, we'll be returning in about a day or two. But I understand if you've had enough of my stink on board." he slurred and gave a laugh as he drank from his Mug of moonshine, it was potent stuff.

"Always a pleasure, Captain." Ambrosine dipped into a formal curtsey--a silly thing to do when wearing pants, but she managed. "I promise to bribe you with whiskey if only you'll put up with Jaffar for a return trip." She grinned impishly at them both.
  • August 2, 2011 12:16:51 PM EDT
The Captain was just as glad to partake in the moonshine celebration -boy did it pack a punch-, after the cargo had been unloaded. He grinned at Jaffar before turning to the dame. "Alright, m'lass", he replied to Ambrosine, "but only fer th' whiskey!". And he let out a booming guffaw at his own joke. The Tempest would thus stay docked for a few days, news which the sailors received with delight. A few days vacation before the return trip.

"Will ye lot be needin' backup fer th' trip t' Kitrt'aven? I can tag along if ye need an extra pair of arms. I'd just need but a moment to grab a weapon or two", he grinned.

Jaffar rubbed his chin and looked to Ambrosine before giving a shrug. "We'd appreciate the company. And as I said, Kirthaven is a great village for rest and relaxation, by which I mean a good place to sleep off a hangover." he chuckled.
  • August 2, 2011 12:20:02 PM EDT
"I'll never say no to your company, Captain." She clucked softly at Jaffar, shaking her head with a smile. "I thought it was a pretty place the one time I've been there."

The Captain gave a profound bow signaling he would be honored to come with them to Kirthaven, and quickly strode over to his chambers. He reappeared bearing a greataxe and a huge shield strapped to his back, and the usual shotgun by his flank. His sleeves were rolled up, giving his brawny arms more freedom of movement. Ling stood on the rail seeing them off.

"So!", said the Captain as he approached them thus outfitted. "Shall we make the trip by foot, by 'orse or by wing? Either way... I am ready". And he bowed his head.
  • August 2, 2011 12:22:49 PM EDT
"Hmm, I suppose the Wildhammer raised gryphons kept here would be able to manage the load, and it's relatively safe." Jaffar looked up to the sky as if searching for something. He looked at the Captain and Ambrosine and spoke in a serious tone, "We just have make sure that we keep together, black dragon's won't hesitate to attack. They nearly took out my brother when we were last here."

Slinging his travelling pack over his shoulder and with a salute to the crew, he stepped off the ship to try and secure their mounts for the journey ahead.
  • August 2, 2011 12:35:01 PM EDT
Captain Morgan signaled his assent to Jaffar's idea. "Let 'em try", he grinned. "We'll give 'em a surprise".

He turned briefly to give some final instructions to Ling, then called out after Jaffar "Worry not abou' 'ow I will fly, lad. I've got me own wings", and he smiled somewhat slyly as he followed the Templar.

Ambrosine cast a wary eye to the sky and pursed her lips. "You sure we can't take horses? I much prefer horses. And not being eaten by black dragons." Not expecting her argument to carry much weight, she just sighed and followed Jaffar.
