Hi all! I have been wanting to try my hand at running an rp-pvp event for a while, and to this extent have been speaking with a few folks, including our own Nemamiah about kicking around a Wargame night. Right now, I want to see what the interest would be on both sides, so I am posting this here in hopes to get some positive feedback about setting up an event in the next few weeks.
This is what we are thinking so far:
Wargames Red vs. Blue
1- We are not reinventing the wheel. We have been requested to rp-pvp with people blueside for story continuation as well as general ooc enjoyment. In that regard, this will not be that different than what we have done before with the Templars.
2- This will not be just Tears vs. TPL. This is a Horde vs. Alliance effort that will be spearheaded by me and Nemamiah for the enjoyment of all involved.
3- Also in that regard, the teams will be hand-picked on each side. Do not volunteer if you do not want to do this. I will try to get names of individuals that will be participating as soon as possible. I know they are pvp heavy and we are not, which is why I will be looking both in and out of guild. We will be matching the teams up as evenly as possible for numbers, gear, etc.
4- We will have the plot directive and goal prepared ahead of time. The wargames will be a best 2 out of 3 (or 3 out of 5) of a battleground as a representation of which way the battle will happen.
5- The goal is fun, and I would like this to be a friendly thing. To ensure all parties are accepting of this, we will be using Vent to communicate with them and among ourselves. The capacity to at least listen in to vent will be required. You do not have ot speak, but it really does help.
6- I hate numbered lists.
7- Anyone outside the wargame cannot interfere with the stories that we will create based upon this pvp and which goals and objectives were met/not met.
8- Good Sportsmanship. We will not tolerate angry posts nor rude actions nor cheap tactics (gy camping) OOC we are good people and want everyone to enjoy themselves. IC some of our players are less honorable and noble than the Tears. By communicating ahead of time about outcomes/tactics/ideas, we can convert ooc good sportsmanship to ic story writing bad guy actions if necessary.
Proposed Story:
Horde/Forsaken Initiative to push the Alliance/TPL presence out of Hillsbrad.
Battle in Hillsbrad (to be represented by the BG of choice either twin peaks or gilneas pending the amount of signups) will determine the ultimate winners of the ‘battle of hillsbrad’
Only those in battle can write stories directly involving the conflict.
Leaders of the battle will be Nemamiah versus Insein
For now, we are debating back and forth if we want to do this as a one shot or not. I think to begin with, we are looking at trying to take back a key point in Hillsbrad. If everyone has fun in the scenario, then we will debate making this a repeated occurrence and storyline.
Y'know....I'm not a big fan of high end battlegrounds thanks to all the dishonorable jerkoffs (like gy campers). But this sounds fun enough that I will try my hand as well.
And the first person to look at Cait and scream 'HEALER, KILL IT!' is going to get my boot and the nearest totem up their backside >.>
