Improving 'Update' Options

I would love some options to handle 'Updates', similar to how you handle Notifications for emails.

Right now I have to 'unlike' many posts that I genuinely do like, because of the amount of updates.

There has been an increased amount of roleplaying response to posts. This isn't a bad thing, but it results in getting about 30-50 updates in a short period that originates from a single post. Forums or journals that I definitely do want to watch and be notified about, are getting lost in all of the alerts. On top of that, if I liked -and- commented on that post, then those 30-50 updates become 60-100, because it double sends.

This overdose of updates is discouraging me from /like and posting.

A suggestion could be to add a 'watch' button by all posts, journals, and art (much like how the forum has a /watch and /unwatch). This can be on by default when you post or like, and then can be manually turned off (again, like the forums).

If not, then an example of some update options might be like this:

[ ] Send updates on posts you Like
[ ] Send updates on posts you comment on
[ ] Send updates on posts you watch

This means that I can disable automatic updates such as 'like' and 'comment', and only have posts I /watch be shown. That, or I can at the very least disable all posts I have commented on, and only watch the posts I like (or vice versa).

agree, this is a good Idea. I've always wondered why it double sends updates on likes and comments from the same person

That's definitely spelling out our thoughts here too.

Yes, I agree. The double notification is bothersome. And just cause I like it, doesn't mean I wanted updates on every post after. So a watch feature would be a nice fix.
