Hello my fellow Earthen Ringers!
Recently, Jarrick and I have been organizing a level 60 content group. "What does this group entail?" you might ask! Essentially, we plan to form a group/guild of alts that are capped at level 60 and use them to run classic content. That means BRD, UBRS, Molten Core, and eventually BWL and beyond if we decide to.
"But Sigmar," you may say, "Why would we want to bash our heads against a wall of ancient content?" Well, we intend to make this as pain-free as possible. That means ANYTHING a level 60 character can access and use, you can bring along to these raids. 58-60 Burning Crusade gear? Great! 375 profession items? Fine! WotLK enchants? Excellent! We want this to be FUN, not a weekly grind. Dual Spec and more role options for each class also helps our cause. Paladins can now DPS, Druids can now tank, etc.
Of course, there are a few unknowns at this point. We don't know how many raiders Molten Core would require nowadays. Our guess is that because of class "power creep," we'll need somewhere between 20 and 30 people to do MC. But that's just a guess. Could be less! Could be more, though I doubt it. We'll have to feel it out as we go. Also, raid composition might be vastly different than it was five years ago.
At the moment we plan on creating a new guild for these alts. The idea is kicking around to make it a pseudo-RP guild, so that those who wish to RP the old content may do so. The name has not been decided on (for some reason, Arrow to the Knee was rejected...)
The current guild plan is to create an RP business-mercenary organization named the Hired Hands. Ideas are still being floated back and forth, but at the moment it will be a pseudo-mercenary guild that has found its business niche by going in and "cleaning up" after the regular soldiers/heroes (i.e. higher levels and mains) take care of the main threats. Ragnaros is dead? Great! Hired Hands mercs will clean out what's left and make a killing.
However, RP is not required!

-Using level 60 Burning Crusade gear (heirlooms are fine too!)
-Using WotLK enchants
-Death Knights and Shamans
-Using level 85s (by themselves) to farm materials and BoE tier pieces, and craft items for use by level 60 alts
-Using 375 profession items (NOTE: this may change, or certain items might be discouraged if they trivialize the content)
NOT OKAY!
-Bringing any character above level 60 to a "classic event"
-Running level 60 alts with characters above 60
Final notes!
If you are interested in joining this little group, please post in this thread with your alt's class and spec. If you'd like to join but don't have a level-appropriate alt, that's alright! We have some time to prepare, so go ahead and roll what you'd like.
It would help if we diversified our roster, so if you want to pick a class/spec that hasn't yet been covered in the roster above, that would help immensely. But no one will be forced to do X or Y: this if for fun!
And finally, if anyone has any suggestions, or ideas on how we should go about this, or classic raid experience, tips would be appreciated.
Balance druid. Currently level 51. I've also done some "oops the healer died so I'll fill in" and am willing to function is this capacity as well if needed. Heck I'll even try tanking if you want.
When is the projected start date for this endeavor?
